YMCA of Austin’s Camp Moody creates an accessible oasis that is both functional and environmentally sensitive steps from Austin’s urban center. The 85-acre site nestled along Onion Creek prioritizes health and well-being for all with activities, outdoor adventures, nature tourism and retreats for kids and adults. The Phase I Master Plan features a new aquatics center which opened in Spring 2020 for campers and local public school swim programs. The natatorium encloses a 10 lane swimming pool, an 1,800 sf fitness center, lobby and administrative offices.
Amenities in the master plan include a lodge for meetings and gatherings, tree house cabins, a ropes course/repelling/zipline/water tower, and art pavilions. The aquatics center was the first project completed in this multi-phased plan. Additionally, Overland designed a 15,800 sf dining hall as part of the Phase I project.
