The biggest online learning experiment in history is underway. Overland recently convened local education leaders to discuss what this means for the future of schools. Joined by Jen Maestas, a San Antonio-based educator and originator of the Miss Education podcast, Overland and Miss Education hosted a lively, thought-provoking conversation on August 31 with guest panelists who are not only education leaders, but also parents of school-age children in San Antonio.

Listen to the podcast as our panelists explore three themes amid COVID 19:
- How are San Antonio schools managing the start of the school year amid a pandemic?
- What does the current moment tell us about the future of schools?
- How will we activate today’s learning into real design solutions for tomorrow’s schools?
We all have been affected by COVID. Overland is dedicated to unlocking the embedded potential of communities, starting with our local schools. By listening closely, thinking creatively and learning from our education partners, teachers, and students about what is and is not working amid COVID 19, we can use this historic disruption to test new learning models and the role of schools in our communities for transformational results. Through this shared experience, new paradigms for education can emerge centered around and tailored to each learner – from the content delivered within classrooms to the opportunities for expansive learning experiences gained on and beyond our school grounds.
“Let’s do what is right for our kids. Let’s create experiences where they can apply what they are learning in meaningful ways that excite them, that help them discover what they are good at, what they are passionate about, what they are interested in and let’s connect that to some path forward into a meaningful future for them.”
