What We Are Looking For 

Certified interior designer who possesses both strong design and technical abilities, and who can manage the conceptualization, design development, and delivery of projects from start to finish. She/he will be responsible for high-impact decisions, endorsing Overland’s design values by personally influencing client service, innovation, and communication. Important to the position is the ability to be self-directed, organized, with excellent time management and communication skills, and most importantly the desire to be a part of a collaborative team. 

Common Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Manage, lead, and guide interiors staff in all phases of interiors projects including programming, space planning, design development, construction documentation and construction administration 
  • Supervise design details and drawings to maintain vision and quality control and deliver project on time within budget 
  • Lead the selection and presentation of furniture, fixture, and equipment (FF&E), architectural/interior finishes, lighting, art, signage, color, and materials 
  • Engage with clients and key stakeholders to guide decision making 
  • Seek innovation in design solutions in an ongoing spirit of curiosity and increased project performance 
  • Assist with mentoring, coaching, and developing junior staff 

Qualifications 

  • NCIDQ Certified interior designer or RID or architectural designer 
  • 8+ years of related experience as an interior designer or architectural designer 
  • Experience working with both clients and consultants in various forms of project coordination 
  • Significant talent in design, design development and project leadership for large-scale interior design projects 
  • Ability to think strategically, implement change, enforce policy, and resolve conflict 
  • Proven ability to create and maintain strong working relationships with external clients and internal staff 
  • LEED or WELL certifications preferred or desired to obtain within first 6 months of employment 
  • Proficient working with software such as Revit, Sketchup, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite
