Aparajita recently graduated with a Master of Architecture in Urban Design from the University of Texas at Austin. She is interested in the future of sustainable urban living exemplified by the reuse of existing infrastructure, promotion of alternative mobilities and ecologically driven design. She has been the recipient of the School of Architecture’s Design Excellence and Outstanding Graduate in Urban Design awards while at UT.
Having previously worked with the Texas DSHS and UT’s Center for Sustainable Development on Planning Modern Psychiatric Care Facilities, Aparajita has developed keen insights on therapeutic landscapes and the role of nature in human well-being.
In Mumbai, Aparajita worked with a Make a Difference, a non-profit seeking to ensure equitable outcomes for children in orphanages and street shelters. She is passionate about education and sees it as the key towards a better future.
Aparajita likes to travel, read and study art. She is also known to pause mid-sentence upon hearing diverse bird calls indicative of ecological health and spatial complexity.
