John Byrd, AIA, LEED AP, LFA

John is a seasoned architect with extensive experience on projects of varying scales, typologies, and locations… from luxury, ecological resorts and hotels in California & Mexico to high-end residential, hospitality, urban design, educational & other boutique projects throughout Texas, the Southwest, & the Gulf Coast. He’s interested in the stories architecture can tell and believes architecture should be tied to its place in the world… how a building sits on the land, how is it part of a larger story of its place, and how it is impacted by its environment and vice versa. He is deeply passionate about sustainable design and believes sustainability is integral to good design, evidenced by many of his projects receiving various AIA, ULI, & other design awards and sustainability accolades, such as COTE Top 10 and LEED Certifications.

He also has a passion for crafting enriching experiences through Architecture… How does a space respond to and influence the rhythms of life? How can design enhance the quality of life of those it touches? What is the connection to land, place & culture? Ultimately, he enjoys creating spaces that inspire and bring people closer together and to themselves. With an eye for detail, he believes true poetry in design occurs with the smallest considerations… the celebration of how materials come together or the way light falls into a space. He enjoys collaborating with his clients and other creative professionals to realize the full potential of every project. Ultimately, he believes these things bring both satisfaction and added value to his clients and their projects.
